Manifesto
Fixing a Broken System
This Manifesto is the lighthouse which spotlights the Party's priorities and sets forth the guideposts for the attainment of the Party's Vision of a well-governed, internally secure and prosperous nation populated by nationalist citizens and law-abiding aliens.Preamble
At independence on 18th February 1965, The Gambia became a sovereign nation with control over its geography and governance. Yet, 60 years later, as we approach the 2026 presidential election, the country remains underdeveloped with ongoing challenges in governance, economic prosperity, and social welfare.
The Nationalist Alternative for Gambia Party (NAfGP) calls for urgent change to address these challenges and bring about a prosperous and secure nation.
Key Issues Facing The Gambia
- Constitution: The current constitution is outdated, a relic of dictatorship days, and previous reform attempts have failed.
- Energy: Unstable electricity supply harms economic growth.
- Water & Sanitation: Lack of access in rural communities is a violation of basic rights.
- Poverty: Increasing and unchecked for decades.
- Youth Unemployment: Thousands face long-term joblessness, prompting risky migration attempts.
- Inequality: Economic and social gaps continue to widen.
- Cost of Living: Rising daily with stagnant wages.
- Corruption & Cronyism: Rampant in all sectors.
- Debasement of National Values: Many officials prioritize self-enrichment over service.
- Food Self-Sufficiency: Loss of prime farmland threatens agriculture and food independence.
